Basel Bread 'Baslerbrot'

A dark, almost charcoal wholemeal bread that uses a 'Hebel' (mother dough) to give the bread a fuller flavour. The bread then needs four rising periods to give a soft inner and crunchy outer.

Basel Bread is best eaten on the day with lots of butter or dipped into olive oil. It also goes very well with cheese, wine or with soup.

Ingredients: organic whole WHEAT flour, white WHEAT flour, YEAST, water
